Extracorporeal Nephrology Group (ECNG)

Aims at academic interaction in Nephrology and to promote awareness among the practicing Nephrologist and Nephrology Postgraduates.

This Platform gives an opportunity to the speaker to exhibit their knowledge through colourful slides. Also promotes speakers addressing distinguished invitees and experts and to do with good timing. Moderators have the opportunities to generate the best from audience. Senior members will be sharing their experience from their long years of practice.

ECNG meets at 9 pm every Monday for 1 hour with great punctuality. Online meetings give the comfort of home at a very convenient time.

DR.GEORGY K NAINAN – Practicing Senior Consultant Nephrologist at Cochin for the last 40 years. He is a Sr.Consultant at VPS Lakeshore Hospital
Director, Cochin Kidney Centre 

He popularized early detection of chronic kidney disease in Mid Kerala,did the first kidney transplantation in Mid Kerala and kerala’s first Cadaver Transplantation.

Over the last 40 years,his team has done more than 1600 kidney Transplantations through Kerala Network for Organ Sharing (KNOS) with good results.

He is a fellow of the Indian Society of Nephrology (FISN) and Fellow of Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) Glasgow (UK).

He is the *Founder Programme Director of Extracorporeal Nephrology Group (ECNG) and has stimulated 25 active speakers to participate in the weekly (Monday) online meetings.

ECNG stimulates the active mind and sharpness the clinical acumen.

Dr Vilesh Valsalan, Kochi, is the senior consultant Nephrologist at Specialist Hospital and Samaritan Hospital kochi and supervise peripheral dialysis centres around kochi.He completed his master’s in Nephrology from the Prestigious Jaslok Hospital and research centre,Mumbai.His areas of interest are acute kidney injury,electrolyte disorders and renal transplantation.He is the academic Coordinator for ECNG and also runs the monthly dialysis technician knowledge upgradation program.

ECNG Quiz Masters

Hosted twice a month,the ECNG Quiz is an interactive session led by Dr.Kishore S Dharan and Dr.Sonu Manuel.Each Quiz features to thought- provoking nephrology questions,with participants submitting answers via the chatbox.Winners will recieve recent nephrology books and be featured on the ECNG Platform.

Dr. Kishore S Dharan

Dr.Kishore S Dharan is the Head of Nephrology at MOSC Medical College,Kolenchery,known for his clinical excellence and academic involvement.A graduate of christan Medical College,Vellore(DM, Nephrology),he is deeply committed to patient centred care and nephrology education.He actively contributes to academic initiatives, including co-hosting the ECNG monthly quiz sessions for Nephrology trainees.

Dr. Sonu Manuel

Dr.Sonu Manuel is a dedicated Consultant Nephrologist at St.Marys Hospital,Thodupuzha.An alumnus of Government Medical College Trivandrum (MBBS,MD) and Nizam's Institute Hyderabad (DM, Nephrology),he combines his commitment to high quality patient care with a passion for Nephrology quizzes for trainees.
